As do mine mate but I think that the pros far outweigh the cons as far as any player is concerned, although I do agree that RFC 'supporters' are worse. I gave up my reserved seats because I didn't want to sit near Richmond people anymore.

And as I said though the only way a player or their family would know they were being abused would be to check out internet forums, which would be an extremely silly thing for any AFL player to do I would have thought.

I don't think many would get on-line anyway. And don't think GWS would be attracting that much supported based web site traffic.

I'm not looking to write anyone off here. Just as Edwards' 7.5kg won't make him a champion, doubts about (for example) Nahas's chances this year if opponents pay him more attention won't see him out the door. I qualified my original post, which i think is important. I didn't say, who will be shit? Let's name names. I asked who had plateaued, and thus may go backwards relative to the team; or who might be paid more attention, etc. I would never wish for a player to go backwards relative to themselves -- only relative to the team. I believe that is a very important distinction, and the basis for reasonable, positive debate.

With regards to the title of the thread, it was not designed to be negative in nature; it was simply, as Samantha noted, the natural counter-question to the one so many have been asking: who will go forwards this year?

I am quite happy for people to forget the negatives and concentrate on the positives: it's an attitude I share towards life in general. But I must admit that the militant way in which it has been expressed has come across as rude and unreasonable. Don't like being negative towards people? Don't be negative towards me.

Can we get back on topic now?

You forgot the next-door neighbour or the kids from school or the team he played with before being drafted - put it down to jealousy, dislike or tall-poppy syndrome.

The simple answer to the question of who will go backwards this season is the players who do not work hard enough or are not good enough.

Personally I prefer to concentrate on who will take us to a premiership

Good points Jase! The last one especially as I think many tend to regard the Club, it's players & to a certain extent members as family.
